Discover the Most Popular Things to Do Bali with Look Book Fly
  • Bali

Bali has always been a dream destination for me, but for a long time, I couldn’t make it happen due to flight schedules and timing issues. Finding the right flight tickets to Bali can be challenging, as convenient timings are often limited. This time, I finally decided to tick Bali off my bucket list! I booked Jet Airways because the schedule suited me perfectly. However, I wouldn’t really recommend Jet for Bali, as the 5-hour journey to Singapore felt cramped due to limited leg space. Other airlines offer better comfort, though they may be slightly pricier. From Singapore, I took Garuda Indonesia to Bali, and the 3-hour flight turned out to be one of the most comfortable experiences, with spacious seating and excellent service.

  • Jimbaran

During my trip to Bali, I stayed in Jimbaran and experienced two luxurious resorts Movenpick Resort and Spa and Jamahal Private Resort and Spa. Both properties were stunning, offering a perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and delicious food, making my stay truly memorable. Visitors can also choose to stay in Seminyak and explore its nearby attractions within a day. Apart from the scenic beaches, the iconic Uluwatu Temple is a must-visit. For adventure lovers, Jimbaran offers exciting water sports like surfing and paragliding. What truly sets Jimbaran apart, however, is its incredible seafood. I enjoyed some of the freshest and tastiest seafood of my life at the local beachside cafes. Kisik Bar and Grill, Menega Cafe, Rajda Seafood Cafe, and Lia Cafe are highly recommended, and lunch at Movenpick is an experience not to miss.

  • Ubud

Ubud is a charming town located in the uplands of Bali and is considered one of the most important cultural landscapes on the island. Known as the center of traditional art, crafts, dance, and heritage, there are countless things to do in Ubud that make it worth a longer stay. While many landmarks can be covered in a day, spending two to three days here provides a more fulfilling experience. During my visit, I explored the Tegalagang Rice Terrace, a wonderful example of the Balinese cooperative irrigation system, and Goa Gajah, a cave admired for its intricate carvings. The town is dotted with Hindu temples and shrines, including Tirta Empul Temple, built around a holy water spring, and Gunung Kawi, an 11th-century temple that radiates rustic charm. Other highlights included the Luwak coffee plantation and the stunning Tegenungang waterfall. One of the most unforgettable adventures was the famous Bali Swing in Ubud, offering breathtaking views of rice fields, waterfalls, rivers, and lush forests. For food lovers, Mama Mia is a great spot for Italian cuisine, while Abe Do, a cozy warung, is popular for its authentic dishes and peaceful green surroundings.

  • Seminyak

Seminyak is one of Bali’s most vibrant destinations, popular for its nightlife, shopping, dining, beach bars, and luxury spas. The area is lined with trendy clubs that are perfect for an exciting night of dancing and music. Its stylish beach bars create a relaxed and sophisticated vibe, making them ideal for unwinding, enjoying sunsets, and savoring delicious food with soothing tunes. Seminyak is also a shopper’s haven, offering a wide selection of upscale boutiques. The food scene here is dynamic, with top spots like La Favela, known for its vintage decor and lively music, and Mykonos Restaurant, serving some of the finest Greek dishes. Mad Pops is another must-visit, especially for its variety of vegan ice creams. Luxury stays are abundant, with options such as The Elysian Boutique Villa Hotel and the Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort. While the area can easily be explored on foot, those who prefer not to walk can rely on the efficient Bluebird Taxi service available throughout Seminyak.

  • Kuta

Kuta is one of Bali’s most lively urban areas, well-known as a beach and resort hub, especially popular for its exciting surfing activities. The Garuda Visnu Kencana Cultural Park is a highlight here, showcasing grand sculptures of Hindu deities and mythical figures, along with frequent traditional dance shows and cultural performances. Visitors also enjoy exploring museums such as Museum Pacifika, featuring Asia-Pacific art collections, and the Dream Museum Zone Bali, loved for its creative optical illusions. Beyond cultural attractions, Kuta is equally famous for its vibrant beach clubs, cafes, and shopping spots. The iconic Potato Head Beach Club offers a perfect sunset experience, while Cafe Sardinia serves mouthwatering dishes in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

  • Nusa Dua Beach

The Nusa Dua area ranks among the most popular beach destinations in Bali, celebrated for its golden sandy shores such as Geger Beach and world-class resorts with pristine golf courses. One of the highlights is the Pura Geger stone temple, set within a forested area overlooking the ocean, admired for its detailed and artistic carvings. Just southeast of Bali, the trio of Nusa islands Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan—are must-visit attractions. Nusa Penida, in particular, enchants visitors with its striking caves and breathtaking waterfalls, making it an unforgettable stop on any Bali itinerary.

The traffic situation in Bali can be quite challenging, often leading to long travel times it once took nearly 5 hours to reach Ubud from Jimbaran. Planning your day carefully is essential. While taxis are widely available across Bali, the best way to truly experience the city is on foot. Walking allows you to enjoy the charm of every corner. For faster travel, rented motorbikes are a convenient choice to cover nearby attractions. Other options like minibuses, vans, and the reliable Bluebird taxi services provide affordable and comfortable rides. Cruises are also a popular way to explore the nearby islands.

Visiting Bali had been a dream of mine for years, and the stunning destinations truly exceeded every expectation. I’m already planning another trip to Bali for a month later this year to explore the smaller islands and hidden gems I couldn’t see the first time. I also want to indulge in all the delicious food I missed on my earlier visit. The charm, beauty, and culture of Bali have completely captured my heart, and I’m confident you will fall in love with it too.
